Nueva Onda is CLOSED

Friends, I’m afraid that Nueva Onda has closed its doors. Nora has gotten an offer on the building and she’s now enjoying a well-deserved vacation. However, dear friends of film and salsa, hope is not lost because she is looking at alternative locations to open a new, revived Nueva Onda.

In the meantime, let us know if you have any suggestions for places to show movies. Here’s a rough idea of what we’re seeking:

  • indoors
  • sustainable (free, or cheap to rent)
  • central
  • already has a projector and screen
  • can seat 20-100 people

Hello, Spring 2011!

It’s spring and that means one thing – time for indie movies!

However, due to some logistical intricacies, the Movie Nights are temporarily on hold. Hopefully we’ll be able to fill in the picture soon. Until then, we’d like to point you to these other fine Austin movie screenings:

Short Indies is every other month, so the next night is June. Entry is $4, but that includes an hour of open bar, and often food from local sponsors.
